Cupping

Dynamic cupping involves electronic suction creating a more powerful suction whilst giving you the option to interchange between suction and release. This simulates myofascial release by stretching and then releasing your muscle tissue like a massage to relieve tension and stress, so you can move better. Red light has multiple benefits including improving cell function and repair. It is also known to reduce inflammation, improve skin health, decrease pain and speed up healing.

The benefits of cupping are not actually ‘skin deep’, but rather extend up for 10 cm into the body. Cupping provides both physical and mental benefits including:

  • Cupping brings the body’s blood closer to the skin’s surface, which is thought to increase circulation generally.

  • Tight, painful muscles are loosened during cupping, helping to promote healing and relaxation of muscle fibers.

  • Scar tissue and adhesions after surgery can be painful as the tightened tissue pulls during movement. Cupping can help to soften these tissues and make them more flexible and pliable, reducing pain.

  • Cupping helps to move lymph fluid through the body more effectively, bolstering and strengthening the immune system.

  • Those who are depressed or anxious often feel much more relaxed and positive after massage cupping.

Deep Tissue Massage

Bad posture can lead to fascia restrictions. If you sit at a computer all day, the tissues at the front of the shoulders and hips will tighten, because the body builds structure to keep your body in that position. Eventually, you’ll stoop forward. As shortened muscles and fascia grow stiffer, they will eventually cause a series of other problems as your body tries to compensate for its loss of mobility. Headaches, muscle tightness and other mysterious aches and pains can all trace their roots to myofascial restriction.

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue. It is a technique that releases chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on contracted areas, either following or going across the grains of muscles, tendons and fascia. It is also a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a technique that uses gentle, rhythmic strokes to stimulate the lymphatic system and encourage it to transport fluid from swollen areas and back into the lymphatic system. Some health conditions can cause lymph fluid to build up. Lymphatic drainage can benefit people with lymphedema, fibromyalgia, and other conditions.

Before and After Surgery

It helps to have the MLD 3 times in the week before the surgery, the last one preferably the day before.

Patients who had liposuction alone can start the day after surgery. For patients with tucks we suggest a few days after surgery.

Please note: While MLD is sometimes referred to as a lymphatic massage, it is not a massage in the traditional sense. It utilises light pressure touch to move lymph fluid; it does not involve manipulating muscles or any deep work. It is not a body contouring/sculpting nor a weight loss/cellulite miracle cure.

hotstones 2_edited.jpg

Hot Stones

The hot stone therapeutic treatment is thought to have originated in China almost 2,000 years ago. These natural Basalt stones are rich in iron and so retain heat longer. One of the major benefits is that the heat from the stones penetrates your body, bringing many of the benefits of massage at a deeper level. It allows intense muscle relaxation which enables the massage therapist to actually work very deeply, without the same pressure that they would need to apply in a deep tissue massage. For those with chronic pain conditions, such as Fibromyalgia, massage has been shown to bring tangible positive effects. Researches have shown that people with painful Rheumatoid Arthritis have also experienced less pain.

Sport Massage

IPre-event massage is undertaken before a workout, competition or sporting performance. The aim of pre-event massage is to increase blood circulation, flexibility and mentally prepare people for activity and enhance performance

The fast-paced, rhythmic method stimulates the muscles and prepares you for physical exertion. This helps the muscles to loosen, improving movement and range of motion – an idealistic state for an event.

A post-event massage is performed after intense training or competition as part of the recovery process.

Post-event massage can be performed from 30 minutes up to 48 hours after intense exercise. Post-event massage aims to increase the body's rate of recovery by reducing inflammation in the muscles.
